Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a tough, dimensionally stable, transparent thermoplastic that has many applications which demand high-performance properties. This versatile thermoplastic maintains its properties over a wide range of temperatures, from -40°F to 280°F. It is the highest impact of any Thermoplastic, transparent with outstanding dimensional and thermal stability, exceptional machinability, stain resistant and non-toxic with low water absorption.

Polycarbonate sheets are highly used in fabrications. These sheets are unique in nature as it offers shock- load resistance, impact resistance, UV stability and is mostly secure against physical attacks. Polycarbonate sheets are mostly used in schools, transportation, public schools and in places where maximum vandalism takes place. Makrolon Polycarbonate sheets are safe and secure with 250 x high strength than any ordinary glass.

Types of Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate AR:  These are manufactured with unique hard coat surface with excellent graffiti, chemical and scratch resistance properties. These materials are transparent, impact resistant, UV resistant and highly abrasion. Polycarbonate AR is mostly found in vehicles, prisons, hospitals (soundproof windows) and as machine guards.

Polycarbonate UV: For increased protection, Polycarbonate UV2 is manufactured with two-sided UV protective coatings. The UV2 has exceptional weather resisting properties with high impact resistance and clarity. UV2 offers optical clarity, flame retardant, high electrical resistant, thermal stability and shock resisting features. Polycarbonate UV is used in moving machines, security windows, switchgear cabinets, and vehicles.
