Foam PVC sheets are chemically formed rigid, lightweight extruded sheets with fine cell structure having a smooth matte surface finish on both surfaces. The PVC foam materials are highly strong and stiff and can ironically resist organic and inorganic chemicals.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a terpolymer or a polymer composed of three different monomers. This amorphous blend is made up of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene in varying proportions. Each one of these monomers serves to impart an advantage to ABS: acrylonitrile provides chemical and thermal stability, while butadiene increase toughness and impact strength, and styrene give plastic a nice and glossy finish.

ABS Features

  • Excellent impact resistance
  • Good machinability
  • Excellent aesthetic qualities
  • Easy to paint and glue
  • Good strength and stiffness
  • Relatively low cost
  • Good chemical and stress cracking resistance to inorganic salt solutions, alkali, and many acids
  • Easily machined to close tolerances, is tough, dimensionally stable and may be thermoformed
  • Excellent electrical properties, moisture and creep resistance

ABS Properties

  • Density relative to water (=1) – 1.07
  • Water absorption (24 hrs) – 0.30%
  • Continuous Service Temperature – 80°C (176°F)
  • Melting point-105°C (221°F)

ABS Applications

  • Machined prototypes
  • Structural components
  • Support blocks
  • Computer keyboards
  • Kitchen appliances
  • LEGO toys
  • The plastic guards on wall sockets
  • In the protective cases of power tools
